An aspiring film maker with a passion for editing. Professional YouTube editor with a dedicated and loyal online following. I am driven by my interest in storytelling and evoking emotion through editing. I have worked alongside independent local fashion and jewellery companies making short promotional advertising videos which enabled me to showcase my varied editing skillset.

I discovered an interest in filmmaking from a young age being fascinated by movies and how the world of cinema works. Little Miss Sunshine captivated me from the moment it started from the simple storytelling concept, setting up of personalities alongside multi layered stories within this dark comedy road-trip. Even today, this is my favourite film of all time and kickstarted my enthusiasm to study film when schooling ended. I began studying TV & Film Production at Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies where I created numerous short films, music videos and documentaries.

After achieving 3 distinction stars at the Confetti Institute, I embarked in a Film Production course at The University of Salford allowing me the opportunity to pursue my ambition of becoming a film editor. Currently in my second year of studies where I have chosen editing as a core module, learning industry standard software and my ultimate aim is to continue with an advanced editing in my final year.

This film was a genre I had never explored before, but one I learnt so much from. My editing skills naturally grew and transformed whilst creating fast paced montages, and building all sorts of tension.

I wanted the pacing of the film to reflect our main characters emotions and lifestyle; slower paced mirroring her boredom and neglect towards her partner. In stark contrast to when she initially becomes interested in stealing money. The pace then drastically picks up

ALL IN was also the first film I worked on the had a pre-made score. Allowing me to edit the main montages to the music. This made my editing process even more enjoyable as I had the freedom to be creative as I wanted, whilst constantly referring to the score.

HAPPY HOUR

Michelle a well known radio show host hasn't been acting herself recently, her producer Alison notices and finds out all is not well at home, can the two rectify it?

Domestic abuse is a serious topic that the whole team felt is not discussed enough. We wanted to raise awareness and start conversations on how people are extremely good at hiding what happens behind closed doors. We worked closely with Manchester Women's Aid Pankhurst Trust, and raised a generous amount of money for the charity.

YOUTUBE

My editing journey started by setting up a YouTube channel 2016. Initially this was just a bit of fun editing together pieces of film and TV to music but through comments and subscriber interaction I soon became aware of the powerful nature of the internet. The first time I noticed when my work was having an impact on people was when I started reading through the comments on my first viral video and people were opening up and communicating about their own struggles and how much they related to the content and how it helped them to not feel alone and suffer in silence. Soon my subscribers were asking me to create videos on several other subject matters relating to mental health, grief and domestic violence.

Editing together pieces of film and music on my channel gave me a greater understanding of the power of storytelling via this medium and gave me a realisation that this could even become a career. Working on my channel gave me an in depth understanding of the role and impact an editor could actually make on the outcome of a feature film and I am very excited about what I can achieve in this role.
